It all began with the phrase “no more snow”. Opening a map we pointed midway down the Florida Atlantic coast saying “I hear they have turtles here.” And so in August, 2017 we moved south, from Boston to Vero Beach on an island between the ocean and the Indian River Lagoon, a sweet short walk to either, where we found magic in sea turtles, manatees, dolphins, the big birds, beach walks, kayaking, sunsets, and the first light of sunrise.
The turtles dig their nests and lay eggs on the beach March through October.
